A little history
Thanks to Gabrielle's solid management training and unique experience as director of a Cooperative, combined with Alexis' entrepreneurial spirit and business skills, they were able to launch a truly innovative project in Canada. While popping boba are very popular in Asia, until now there has been no Canadian industrial manufacturer capable of producing quality popping bubbles in large quantities; they were all manufactured abroad, then imported.
Gabrielle and Alexis quickly grasped the enormous advantage of offering a Canadian product of exceptional quality. They offer bespoke popping boba, created based on the customer's specific needs, and produced on demand, ensuring unparalleled freshness and personalization.
Assisted by two shareholders, a chemist and a biologist, the project took shape and the production of bubble tea started in February 2022.
A story full of fizz
In 2024, the explosive bubble factory moved and acquired new equipment, in order to double its production. The Canadian factory of La Bulle Bleue now offers its customers a constant, reliable and certified supply. Thanks to our commitment to quality and consistency, our partners can count on local production that guarantees full traceability at every stage.

Gabrielle Girard-Vallée, President
With a degree in business management from the University of Sherbrooke, I quickly took the reins as general manager of a cooperative with 30 employees, where I managed a variety of human resources situations. I also led a change of banner, implemented new work tools and rectified the financial situation of the cooperative. Based on this experience, my partner and I decided to found a company manufacturing popping boba.
Alexis Poulin, Vice-president
During my DEC, I founded an electronic device repair company. This experience allowed me to understand how much I enjoyed taking on challenges and making strategic decisions. My years playing professional hockey definitely developed my sense of teamwork, but also instilled in me the discipline needed to set and achieve goals. It was this taste for a challenge that pushed my partner and I to create a company specializing in the manufacture of bubble tea pearls.
Daniel Vallée, R&D Director
I spent my career in industrial management, optimizing or installing equipment for large manufacturing companies, at Domtar among others. When I retired, the plan was a sailboat somewhere in the West Indies, but when I was approached for a popping boba manufacturing project, where we were starting from a brand new patch of sand…. I couldn't say no. As a chemist, I am now involved in R&D to optimize equipment performance, develop new products and implement best practices in force in the industry.
Carole Girard, Quality Director
When I retired as a documentation architect, I did not know that I would return to research. After my studies at the University of Sherbrooke, I worked as a research assistant in biology. As a member of La Bulle Bleue's internal R&D team, I participate in the creation of new flavors of boba and the development of new products that exceed our customers' expectations. There are no limits to what we can achieve, and that’s what makes my job so exciting. I am also in charge of the project to obtain our GFSI certification.
Antoine Girard-Vallée, Director of Operations
With a degree in computer engineering, I honed my talent for problem solving through my experiences in various programming companies. Today, I manage the daily operations of La Bulle Bleue with a strategic vision oriented towards efficiency. My analytical approach and engineering expertise help create technological solutions that ensure stable and optimized production for the company.
